Here we go, Shamblers…with another book for the ‘Well Read Undead’ with me- ‘the Zombiequeen!’ (and yes…I realize this book has been out since 2004… I don’t care- a good book is a good book. But IS it good? read on and find out!
Monster Island is the first in a trilogy of online serial novels from David Wellington which was received well and they decided to put em out as these old and dusty ‘book’ things… While online writing is nice, curling up with a good laptop or Kindle just doesn’t have the same ‘ring’ to it… but I digress.
The story takes place in zombie-infested Manhattan and follows a group of Somalian School girls-turned-soldiers (YES you read that right) led by a former UN weapons inspector (Dekalb) as they attempt to locate medical supplies needed for their ailing warlord (Dekalb’s daughter is being held by the warlord, ensuring his co-operation). They encounter a zombie who has managed to preserve his consciousness (Gary) and who is being controlled by a mysterious dark force whose intent is to destroy the human race. Well…what’s left of it anyway!
I enjoyed this novel at the beginning and it did have a few interesting twists… but I did find the plot got a bit messy at times later on – zombies and mummies and druids- oh my! (You’ll get that joke when you read the book!)
I really liked the concept of the ’sentient zombie’ (I thought that the Zombieking and I were the only ones!) and the lead character was interesting enough… Stack up a good zombie death count, and we have a pretty decent book…just not ‘perfect’. Maybe the others in the series (Monster Nation and Monster Planet) will win me over…we’ll see!
I give this one 3 out of 5 bloody eyeball martinis!

I am the Zombie Queen and this topic is DEAD …and buried!

This one was near and dear to my heart… I f I had one, that is… ZOMBIE DICE by Steve Jackson games! The premise is simple: Eat brains. Don’t get shotgunned.
It is my plan to do up a review on this game in the near future… just gotta get time on it all- but I figured I had the pic so why not share it with you! Check out the Steve Jackson games HOMEPAGE
That’s it for this batch- LOTS more to come, plus even more after that when I reveal some of the great horror and zombie stuff I found at the Fanexpo this year! Keep it locked to zombieinfo.com!

OK so head over to Glowmonkey.com and play a couple of rounds of “Zombie Balloon Heads”. It’s a FREE, somewhat addictive Flash based game that has you filling zombie heads with ink until they explode… sounds like fun eh. It plays like a side and vertical scrolling shootemup (think Castlevania without the puzzles). It gets repetitive after awhile, but its fun and free to play!
You can play it here http://www.glowmonkey.com/
or here http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/543849

Oh, and just for shits and giggles, there’s a Flash game named after me… well maybe not after me, but it’s another cool little Flash game that has you playing a giant man-eating worm (ala Tremors) digging through the ground, building up momentum to eat some tasty little humans running around helplessly above ground. Check out Wormfood at http://www.miniclip.com/games/worm-food/en/

Heya all,
I was at a FEW conventions and gathered up a TON of pics and info- here is just a taste of some of the cool stuff I saw at Gen Con this year- and where/how you can get your own! In order to not overwhelm with ‘teh awesome’ I am gonna dole it out in smaller spurts… enjoy!
Check it out:

Former Zombieinfo feature (CHECK IT OUT HERE) Billy Tackett (along with his wife Heather!) was there showing why he is one of the absolute best in Zombie art…. he has cool ass teeshirts and some wicked new art. Part of me hates him…because I just can’t draw. The other part of me is happy he’s one of our friends…and the other part of me is just kind of hungry and sleepy. ANYWAY- moving on!

This is just a SMALL sampling of the coolness that Zombie Buddy Productions had in their booth- good thing they have an online store HERE to show off more of their stuff… Great folks and also a regular at Gen Con!
One more…I’ll save some for future posts…

Glitch Gaming Apparel were new to the show this year, but they had some really cool shirts and such- Check them out ONLINE HERE
The guys were great and seemed to have a pretty good time!
Anyway- as promised I don’t want to bombard you with a billion pics… so I’ll put them out over time – and I will also feature stuff I found at Fanexpo coming up as well!
Our friends over at Rue Morgue Magazine are having their annual ‘Festival of Fear’ at the fanexpo show in Toronto this weekend… so if you find yourself near METRO TORONTO CONVENTION CENTRE this weekend you should get your ass in to this show!

There is a ton of stuff going on, ranging from Horror/Sci-fi, Gaming, Anime and of course Comics…and the Zombieking and Queen WILL be covering this event so I hope to come back with some cool-ass pics and news from this show! If you see us wandering the floor come up and say hi!
