Did I blink and miss this? Sigourney Weaver (nice touch – Nostromo Pictures?). Cillian Murphy and Robert DeNiro??? Holy Fuck! This cast looks outstanding, and according to a little digging this comes out July 13th, so huh… who knows, while I doubt we’ll get any gore, this should be a wicked ‘thriller’ at least.
Synopsis (from IMDB): Dr. Margaret Matheson and her partner, Tom Buckley are the world’s foremost investigators of paranormal phenomena. Professional skeptics, they have debunked dozens of fraudulent mind readers, ghost hunters, faith healers and the like by detecting what Matheson calls ‘red lights’, subtle clues to the trickery behind each of these ‘supernatural’ occurrences.
I have to admit… this doesn’t look like it will suck. While the cartoonish antics of Ah-nuld will live on for me forever on DVD, this looks more like the book… might have to give it a sporting chance in August when it comes out… (Aug 3rd is the date so far) starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho, Bill Nighy – Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick.
Synopsis: Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen.

This release is a month ahead of anywhere else in North America!
To celebrate, Victoria Dunn is hosting a Zombie Beauty Contest at the book launch. There will be prizes, free food, a zombie song written by Trevor Strong of Arrogant Worms fame, and readings from Alice Hearts Welsh Zombies.
